Collisions

I seem to understand - or rather to intuit - the presence of a red thread that joins the crisis that part of the Western world has been grappling with for a few years now, with the discovery of the Higgs boson, also called the "God particle".

"The Higgs boson is the particle that gives mass to every subatomic particle comprising the matter we are all made up of", writes Giovanni Caprara on the Corriere della Sera newspaper. According to Rolf Heuer, director general of Geneva's CERN, "The Higgs boson is the missing cornerstone of physics and is likely to shed light on other mysteries of our universe". And for Guido Tonelli, spokesman of the exceptional experiment: "This could be the first ring in a chain of discoveries."

If the particle discovered gives weight to the smallest essence of which all things are made, we could very well say that the weight of our being has been discovered: and if perhaps it is still too soon to ask ourselves where we are going, in any case, a precious piece has been added to the puzzle of the infinite quest for "where we come from".

We still have to decide how to face the crisis that materialized itself when physics was still in its "pre-boson" era. In that period - our period - the weight of finance, filtered through a good dose of cynicism, reached a specific value greater than the weight of an economy based on ethical work to which we were educated and that we still retain to be the only road to take.

We just have to hope that some young researcher is studying the formula to get us out of the situation we have ended up in.

Maybe it would suffice to make the particle of the rules of the market collide with the one that best approaches the common good.-
