Drupa 2004: Three Systems, Eight Brands, One Group

For the first time, all the companies of the group participated under a common roof, with a common message: three Systems, eight Brands, one Group specialising in sheeting, converting and packaging machinery and services for the fields of tissue, paper and hygiene.


BOOTH. The 1800-sqm booth realised for this occasion played the role of an agora where to show all visitors the new technologies, innovations and services in the fields of paper, tissue and hygiene. Today more than ever, the future lies in innovation and the market requires not only technology, but also reliability, optimisation of resources, time and money savings, integration between converting and packaging.


DURING DRUPA, THE EIGHT BRANDS OF THE GROUP – E.C.H. WILL, SHM, KUGLER-WOMAKO, PEMCO, WRAPMATIC, FABIO PERINI, CASMATIC AND DIATEC - UNDER THE SAME ROOF OF KÖRBER PAPERLINK, communicated their experience, their market knowledge, the strength and reliability of an international group. More than 3000 visitors were registered at the KPL booth during the fair.

This event was very successful also for Fabio Perini SpA and KPL Packaging, although it was not strictly related to the world of converting. The two companies presented interesting innovations and organised five Open House days at the Wepa facilities in Giersaghen, during the exhibition period.


THE REVOLUTIONARY TIME LINE, the new Colour Embossing system, the Deco Embossing technology applied to folding machines, innovations in the field of inter-folded products (presented by Green Bay Engineering), safety level “3” norms and the new Spares-On-Line service for spare parts purchasing were the main innovations presented by Fabio Perini SpA on this occasion. KPL Packaging introduced many innovations concerning both the Tissue and Paper divisions, under the brands Casmatic and Wrapmatic: evolutions on already existing machines, new technologies, updates on the “ContRoll” line supervision system.

All such themes were discussed and illustrated to customers and visitors at the KPL booth, in the areas dedicated to machine demonstrations, customer service, conferences, meeting rooms and offices, which became an important meeting point for exchange and confrontation.


OPEN HOUSE. Not only theory, but also practice! The Open House organised at Giersaghen constituted the perfect occasion to demonstrate a Tissue System at work. During the five days of demonstration, the Wepa company, one of the main German tissue producers, opened its doors to more than 200 visitors coming from all over the world.

The machines on demonstration were the new Perini Sincro LX Line, two Casmatic wrapping machines mod. CMW 425 (equipped with two handle applicators mod. BH 360) and two bundlers mod. CMB 202. The machines produced kitchen towel rolls reaching the speed of 52 logs per minute.

The Tissue System presented at Wepa encloses all the key concepts of the next generation of machines for the converting industry. Modularity, safety level “3” norms, high cycle rates, integration with the packaging system are all elements guaranteeing the utmost efficiency both in terms of production rates and product quality. The ContRoll system installed on the Casmatic machines guarantees line harmonisation and overall supervision of the process.


BOAT. “Welcome Aboard!”. Innovation and technology were not the only protagonists of Drupa 2004; during this event, customers were also offered relax and entertainment on board the “Heidelberg”. This boat, belonging to the Peter Dailmann Shipping Company and rented by KPL for the occasion, was docked on the Rhine River, just a few steps away from the fairgrounds. Guests were welcomed in an exclusive lounge and offered unforgettable evenings of entertainment and exclusive cuisine. International chefs, fine wines and liqueurs, after-dinner shows with international artists made for a very special stay on the “KPL Boat”. The perfect place to relax after a busy day at the show.

The entire Drupa 2004 event was ideated by KPL with particular attention on communicating a corporate identity: Körber PaperLink, “Part of Your Success”, supplier of global integrated solutions. Three Systems, Eight Brands, One Group.
